Valedictorian's Freedom of Religion Squashed
by Chris McElroy
In Las Vegas it seems even though a student works hard to become Valedictorian they can be harshly welcomed into a new United States where freedom of religion and freedom of speech are not what they once were.
I feel like an immigrant to this new country where I am allowed to say anything I wasnt, well as long as it doesn't offend anyone. A country where you have freedom of religion, well as long as you don't offend anyone and as long as you don't worship where others might hear you if they passed by.
In Vegas a High School Valedictorian, Brittany McComb wanted to give God the glory for helping her. She wanted to tell how God helped her achieve her goals and carried her through the troubling times youth face every day.
As soon as she started to do so, the school officials were ready for her and pulled the plug on the sound system so she could not be heard. They had warned her to stick to a prepared script for her speech and not to include anby references to God or Jesus Christ.
She continued to speak without the aid of the microphone. She still gave glory to God and is a shining example of what our youth should be doing today.
Brittany McComb is a rebel. Jesus Christ was also a rebel, telling the leaders of his day what they were doing was wrong and defying their attempts to silence His message. God will bless Brittany. More people should stand up to people who try to silence God's message.
Brittany is now taking the school to court for violating her rights to religious freedom and freedom of speech. Although it says in the bible not to sue your brothers and sisters in Christ, I believe Brittany is suing people who have nothing at all to do with Christ and support her 100%.
